Write Fibonacci Series Code

EasyPython

Problem

For a Virtusa engineering utility, generate the first n numbers in the Fibonacci series. The series begins with 0, 1, and each subsequent number is the sum of the previous two numbers.

Return the values in order as a Python list. For n = 0, return an empty list.

Formal Specification

Implement fibonacci_series(n):

  • Input: An integer n, representing the number of Fibonacci values to generate.
  • Output: A list containing the first n Fibonacci numbers.
  • The sequence uses zero-based indexing: F(0) = 0 and F(1) = 1.

Constraints

  • 0 <= n <= 10^4
  • Return exactly n Fibonacci values
  • Use F(0) = 0 and F(1) = 1
  • Python integers may grow beyond standard machine integer limits

Function Signature
