What If You Miss the Deadline

Your question is What If You Miss the Deadline. Take a moment with it on the right.

Talk me through your thinking if you like. When you're confident, submit your answer and I'll grade it like a real screen (7/10 or better passes).

You need to log in / sign up to chat or submit.

Problem

What would you do if you realize your project will not meet a deadline? Explain how you would assess the situation, communicate the risk, reset priorities, and move the work forward. The interviewer is probing for ownership, judgment under pressure, transparency with stakeholders, and the ability to make practical tradeoffs. Address both your immediate actions and how you would prevent a recurrence. A strong response uses a specific example, distinguishes essential work from deferrable work, quantifies the impact where possible, and explains the outcome.
