Unit Tests for Business Logic

MediumPython

Problem

Write robust unit tests for a complex business logic method using a standard testing framework of your choice.

For this exercise, implement run_unit_tests(actual_results, expected_results) using Python's unittest framework. Each argument is a list of JSON-compatible values representing observed and expected results. Return True when all results match exactly, including list length, value type, ordering, and nested contents. Return False when any assertion fails.

Function

def run_unit_tests(actual_results, expected_results):

Constraints

  • Both inputs are JSON-compatible lists.
  • 0 <= len(actual_results), len(expected_results) <= 10^4.
  • Nested values may include dictionaries, lists, strings, numbers, booleans, and null.
  • Ordering must be preserved.
  • The function must use Python's standard-library unittest framework.
