Two Sum With Optimal Complexity

EasyPython

Problem

Given an array of integers, find the pair that sums to a specific target value with optimal time complexity.

Return the indices of the two distinct elements whose values add to target. Return an empty list if no pair exists. The input is nums, an integer array, and target, an integer. The output is a two-element list of indices.

Constraints

  • 2 <= nums.length <= 10000
  • -1000000000 <= nums[i] <= 1000000000
  • -1000000000 <= target <= 1000000000
  • Return any valid pair if multiple pairs exist
  • Do not use the same element twice
