Troubleshooting Data Integration Issues

MediumSQL · PostgreSQL

Problem

Explain a time you had to troubleshoot a complex data integration issue between two distinct systems. Write a PostgreSQL query that compares records from two systems and identifies integration discrepancies, including records missing from either system and differences in amount or status.

Output

  1. One row per discrepancy, with the integration key, source and target record IDs, source and target values, and an issue_type.
  2. Exclude records that match on amount and status.
  3. Sort by integration_key in ascending order.
