Your question is Tracking Sessions and Behavior. Take a moment with it on the right.

Talk me through your thinking if you like. When you're confident, submit your answer and I'll grade it like a real screen (7/10 or better passes).

You need to log in / sign up to chat or submit.

Problem

How would you design a system to track user sessions and visitor behavior across the Thumbtack platform?

Discuss how you would collect events across web and mobile, distinguish anonymous visitors from signed-in users, define and persist sessions, and support both real-time and batch behavioral features. Explain how the design would serve downstream Thumbtack experiences, how you would evaluate data quality and ML outputs, and how you would handle privacy, consent, drift, and outages. Clarify assumptions before selecting technologies or scale targets.
