Top Shows SQL Query

MediumSQL · PostgreSQL

Problem

Write a SQL query to find the top five most viewed shows on Hulu in the last month.

Treat “last month” as the previous calendar month relative to the current date. Include shows with no qualifying views only if needed for ranking, and count each viewing event once.

Output

  1. One row per show, with show_id, show_title, and total_views.
  2. Return at most five shows, ordered by total_views descending, with show_id ascending as the tie-breaker.
