SQL for Top Engaged Donors

MediumSQL · PostgreSQL

Problem

Write a SQL query to find the top 10% of donors who have engaged with our recent email campaigns.

Use campaigns sent on or after 2025-02-01 as recent. A donor is engaged when they have at least one recorded email engagement for a recent campaign.

Output

  1. Return one row per qualifying donor with donor_id, donor_name, total_donated, engaged_campaigns, and donor_rank.
  2. Include only the top 10% of engaged donors, rounding the required count up and breaking ties by donor_id.
  3. Order by donor_rank, then donor_id.
