Top Assets by Region in 30 Days

MediumSQL · PostgreSQL

Problem

An operations team wants to identify the strongest-performing assets in each region. Write a SQL query to calculate each asset's total performance score over the trailing 30 calendar days ending on September 15, 2026, and return the top three assets per region.

Output

  1. One row per qualifying asset, with columns region, asset_id, asset_name, total_performance, and performance_rank.
  2. Include only performance records from September 15, 2026, and the preceding 29 calendar days. Ignore NULL performance scores when calculating totals.
  3. Return no more than three assets per region. Order by region, performance rank, and asset ID. Break ties by smaller asset ID.
