SQL Top 5 Games by Revenue | Dataford Interview Questions

A gaming platform needs a quarterly revenue ranking for its game portfolio. Write a SQL query to find the five games with the highest completed transaction revenue in the previous calendar quarter, using a fixed reporting date of July 15, 2026.

Output

One row per game with completed revenue during the previous calendar quarter, April 1 through June 30, 2026.
Columns: game_id, game_name, and total_revenue.
Exclude transactions that are not completed, transactions outside the quarter, and transactions for unknown games. NULL amounts do not contribute to the revenue total.
Order by total_revenue descending, then game_id ascending for ties, and return only five rows.
