Top 5% Active Workspaces SQL

MediumSQL · PostgreSQL

Problem

Write a SQL query to find the top 5% of active Airtable workspaces based on weekly active users, partitioned by industry.

Use the activity week from 2025-02-03 through 2025-02-09. Include active workspaces with no activity, treating their weekly active user count as zero.

Output

  1. One row per selected workspace with industry_name, workspace_id, workspace_name, weekly_active_users, and top_5_percent_bucket.
  2. Include only the highest 5% within each industry, using a deterministic workspace ID tie-breaker.
  3. Sort by industry_name, descending weekly_active_users, then workspace_id.
