Top 3 Revenue Bookings

MediumSQL · PostgreSQL

Problem

Marriott International wants a monthly view of its highest-value bookings across Marriott properties. Write a PostgreSQL query that ranks eligible bookings by revenue within each calendar month.

Requirements

  1. Join marriott_bookings to marriott_properties to include the property name.
  2. Exclude cancelled bookings, bookings without revenue, and bookings whose property is not present in the property table.
  3. Return the top three bookings per month, ordered by revenue descending within each month. Use booking_id as a deterministic tie-breaker.
