Your question is Top 10 Movies by Category and Time Frame. Take a moment with it on the right.

Talk me through your thinking if you like. When you're confident, submit your answer and I'll grade it like a real screen (7/10 or better passes).

You need to log in / sign up to chat or submit.

Problem

Build a system to generate Top 10 movies by category by time frame for a streaming platform from users_viewership(userid, movieid, date, starttime, endtime), where a view counts only if at least 80% of runtime was watched: design the view-count algorithm (merge intervals), the data model (facts and dimensions), the daily ETL strategy, and the full SQL to produce the reporting table. Asked in the Round 2 LLD stage. Reported follow-ups: design the algorithm using merge intervals and design fact/dimension tables.
