Top 10 Engaged Users SQL

MediumSQL · PostgreSQL

Problem

Write a SQL query to find the top 10 most engaged users in the past month for SmartNews.

Treat a user's engagement as the sum of engagement_points from their qualifying events during the past month, excluding users whose total is zero or unavailable.

Output

  1. One row per qualifying user with user_id, display_name, total_engagement, and event_count.
  2. Return at most 10 users, ordered by total engagement descending, event count descending, and user ID ascending to break remaining ties.
