Timed Coding Experience

MediumPython

Problem

Tell me about a real-like coding experience you had to complete on time.

Implement schedule_tasks(tasks). Each task is represented by an array [duration, deadline]; tasks run sequentially from time zero. Return the maximum number of tasks that can be completed without finishing any task after its deadline. You may reorder tasks, and tasks cannot be partially completed.

Input and Output

tasks is an array of integer pairs. Return an integer count.

Constraints

  • 0 <= tasks.length <= 1000
  • Each task contains exactly two integers: duration and deadline
  • 1 <= duration <= 10^6
  • 1 <= deadline <= 10^6
  • Tasks may be reordered
  • Tasks cannot be partially completed

Function Signature
