Swap Two Numbers Program

EasyPython

Problem

Airtel Digital services may need to exchange two temporary integer values during processing. Write a function that swaps two numbers without changing their original inputs and returns the values in swapped order.

Formal Specification

Implement swap_numbers(a, b):

  1. Input: Two integers, a and b.
  2. Output: A list containing the values in the order [b, a].
  3. The function must not depend on global variables.
  4. Use constant extra space. Python tuple assignment is allowed.

The values may be equal, zero, positive, or negative. Since Python integers are immutable, returning the swapped values is the observable result of the operation.

Constraints

  • -10^9 <= a, b <= 10^9
  • Both inputs are integers
  • Return exactly two values in swapped order

Function Signature
