Swap Two Numbers in Python

EasyPython

Problem

DXC Technology engineers often write small Python utilities that transform values before passing them between application services. Implement a function that swaps two integer values without changing either input variable outside the function.

Formal Specification

Given two integers a and b, return a two-element list containing the values in swapped order. The first output element must be the original value of b, and the second must be the original value of a.

Do not perform arithmetic-based swapping, such as addition and subtraction. Use Python's assignment features or another clear constant-space technique.

Constraints

  • a and b are integers.
  • -10^9 <= a, b <= 10^9
  • The function must use O(1) auxiliary space.
  • Return exactly two values in a list.

Function Signature
