Swap Characters at Odd/Even Positions | Dataford Interview Questions

How would you swap characters at odd and even positions in a string?

For this task, use 1-based positions and perform one left-to-right swap between the first even-position character and the immediately following odd-position character that are different. Return the resulting string unchanged when no such pair exists or the string has fewer than three characters.

Function: def swap_odd_even(s):

Input: A string s containing any characters.

Output: The transformed string.

Constraints

0 <= len(s) <= 10^5
s may contain lowercase letters, uppercase letters, digits, spaces, or punctuation
Only the first qualifying pair is swapped
