Superhost Median Price Gap

MediumSQL · PostgreSQL

Problem

Given an Airbnb dataset, write a query or a Pandas script to find the biggest median price difference between superhosts and non-superhosts.

Assume the comparison is made separately for each neighborhood. Exclude listings with missing neighborhoods, missing host status, or non-positive prices, and compare only neighborhoods containing both host types.

Output

  1. Return one row for the neighborhood with the largest absolute difference.
  2. Include neighborhood, superhost_median_price, non_superhost_median_price, and median_price_difference.
  3. Sort by the difference descending, breaking ties by neighborhood ascending.
