Your question is Startup Motivation. Take a moment with it on the right.

Talk me through your thinking if you like. When you're confident, submit your answer and I'll grade it like a real screen (7/10 or better passes).

You need to log in / sign up to chat or submit.

Problem

Why would you want to work for a startup?

Please answer based on your actual motivations and experience rather than giving a generic description of startup culture. Explain which aspects of an early-stage environment, such as ownership, ambiguity, customer proximity, or rapid learning, appeal to you, and connect them to how you work as a software engineer.

We are looking for evidence that you understand both the opportunities and trade-offs of startup work. A strong answer is specific, balanced, and demonstrates that your motivation aligns with Clutch without implying that you are simply seeking a less structured workplace.
