SQL Second Highest Age

MediumSQL · PostgreSQL

Problem

Incedo's employee directory needs a query that identifies employees whose age is the second-highest distinct age among active employees. Write a PostgreSQL query using the employee and team data.

Requirements

  1. Consider only employees whose employment_status is Active.
  2. Find the second-highest distinct age, excluding NULL ages.
  3. Return every active employee with that age, including employees without a matching team.
  4. Display the employee name, age, and team name. Show Unassigned when no team matches, and order results by employee name.
