SQL: Second and Nth Highest Salary

Problem

Write a query to select an employee with the second highest salary, and then write a query for the nth highest salary.

For this exercise, use n = 4 for the sample evaluation. Include all employees tied at either requested salary level and ignore employees whose salary is NULL.

Output

  1. One row per employee with the second or fourth highest distinct salary.
  2. Columns: employee_id, employee_name, salary, and salary_rank.
  3. Order by salary_rank ascending, salary descending, then employee_id ascending.
