SQL: Prime and 3rd Highest Salary

MediumSQL · PostgreSQL

Problem

Write a SQL query to find prime numbers and also return the 3rd highest salary.

Use the numbers and employees tables. Treat the third highest salary as the third distinct salary, and return every employee tied at that salary.

Output

  1. Return result_type, prime_number, employee_name, and salary.
  2. Use one row per prime number and one row per employee at the third highest salary.
  3. Sort prime rows in ascending numeric order, followed by the salary rows.
