SQL Joins and Window Functions | Dataford Interview Questions

Write a SQL query using basic joins and window functions to answer a product analytics question.

Use products and product_events to measure product engagement during January 2026. Return every product, including products with no events, and rank products within their category by event count.

Output

One row per product with product_id, product_name, category, event_count, and category_rank
Include all products and count only events from January 2026
Sort by category with NULL categories last, then rank and product ID
