SQL Filter by Salary and Name

EasySQL · PostgreSQL

Problem

Collegedunia needs an employee list for an internal compensation review. Write a PostgreSQL query that returns employees whose names begin with S and whose salaries fall within a specified inclusive range.

Use a salary range from ₹60,000 through ₹100,000, and include the employee's department name by joining the employee and department records.

Requirements

  1. Return the employee ID, full name, salary, and department name.
  2. Include only employees whose full_name begins with uppercase S and whose salary is between ₹60,000 and ₹100,000, inclusive.
  3. Exclude employees whose department does not exist in the departments table.
  4. Sort by salary from highest to lowest, then by name alphabetically for ties.
