Spring Boot REST APIs with CI

MediumPython

Problem

Build REST APIs in a Spring Boot project and push the code to the master branch (timed HackerRank, 2 hours).

Asked in the online assessment stage. Implement equivalent behavior for an in-memory /items resource.

Contract

Process requests with process_requests(requests). Each request has method, path, and optionally body. Supported operations are POST /items, GET /items, GET /items/{id}, PUT /items/{id}, and DELETE /items/{id}. Items contain a positive integer id and non-empty string name. Return one response per request as {status, body}.

Constraints

  • 0 <= len(requests) <= 10^4
  • Each request contains a method and path
  • Item IDs are positive integers
  • Item names are non-empty strings
  • Requests are processed sequentially
  • IDs are unique among stored items

Function Signature
