Write a function to sort a list of objects based on a specific attribute.

Implement def sort_objects(objects, attribute):. Each object is a dictionary containing the specified attribute, and all attribute values are mutually comparable. Return a new list sorted in ascending order by that attribute. Preserve the original list and maintain the relative order of objects with equal values.
