Sort Student Grades Function

EasyPython

Problem

Can you write a function to sort a list of student grades?

Implement sort_grades(grades), which accepts a list of numeric grades and returns a new list sorted in ascending order. Do not modify the input list. Duplicate grades must be preserved.

Input/output: grades is a list of integers or floating-point numbers. Return a list containing the same values in nondecreasing order.

Examples: [85, 72, 90, 72] returns [72, 72, 85, 90]; [] returns [].

Constraints: The list contains at most 1,000 values.

Constraints

  • 0 <= len(grades) <= 1000
  • Each grade is an integer or floating-point number
  • Return the grades in nondecreasing order
  • The input list must not be modified
