Newgen Software document workflows may need to identify the second highest distinct priority score from a list of values. Given an array of integers, return its second highest distinct number without sorting the array.

If the array contains fewer than two distinct values, return None.

Formal Specification

Implement second_highest(nums).

Input: nums, a non-empty list of integers.
Output: The second highest distinct integer, or None when fewer than two distinct values exist.
Duplicate values count only once. The result does not need to preserve any original index.

Constraints

1 <= len(nums) <= 10^5
-10^9 <= nums[i] <= 10^9
The input list contains integers only
Do not modify nums
