Reverse Integer Without Strings

MediumPython

Problem

How would you reverse a number (like 1284 to 4821) without resorting to string manipulation?

Implement reverse_number(number) using arithmetic operations only. Preserve the sign, remove leading zeroes created by reversal, and return an integer. For example, 1284 returns 4821, -507 returns -705, and 1200 returns 21.

Constraints

  • number is an integer
  • -2^31 <= number <= 2^31 - 1
  • String conversion and string manipulation are not allowed
  • The result is returned as an integer
