Reverse a string

Asked in the technical interview stage. Implement the operation without using Python's built-in reverse helpers or slicing.

Contract

Implement reverse_string(s). The input is a string, and the output must be a new string containing the characters of s in reverse order. Preserve spaces, punctuation, capitalization, and repeated characters.

Constraints

0 <= len(s) <= 1000
The input contains valid Python string characters
Preserve spaces, punctuation, capitalization, digits, and Unicode characters
Do not use built-in reverse helpers or slicing
