Restaurant Order Management Interfaces

MediumPython

Problem

An order management system for a restaurant is being developed, Implement the IOrder and IOrder System interface as described.

Implement an order abstraction and an order-system abstraction that can add or remove order items, list items with quantities, and calculate the total after applying discounts by price category: Cheap, Moderate, and Expensive.

Input and Output

Use process_orders(operations, discounts). Each item has id, name, price, and category. Operations are add, remove, list, or total. An add operation includes item and quantity; a remove operation includes id and quantity. Return one result per operation: null for mutations, a list for list, and the discounted numeric total for total.

Constraints

  • Each item has id, name, price, and category fields.
  • Item IDs are unique within an order.
  • Quantities are positive integers.
  • A remove operation references an existing item.
  • Discount values are decimal rates between 0 and 1.
  • At most one item record exists for each ID.
