REST API Request Completion

EasyPython

Problem

Complete a sample REST API request and fill in the blanks.

Implement complete_request(request_template, values) to replace every placeholder written as {{name}} with its corresponding string value, including repeated placeholders. Preserve all other text, spacing, punctuation, and line breaks. Every placeholder has a key in values, and placeholder names contain only letters, digits, and underscores.

Input/output: The function receives two strings-compatible inputs, a request template and a mapping of placeholder names to strings, and returns the completed request string. For example, {{method}} /items/{{id}} with {"method":"GET", "id":"42"} returns GET /items/42.

Constraints

  • 1 <= len(request_template) <= 1000
  • Placeholder names contain only letters, digits, and underscores
  • Every placeholder has a corresponding key in values
  • All replacement values are strings
  • The template may contain repeated or adjacent placeholders

Function Signature
