Resolving Dashboard Discrepancies

MediumSQL · PostgreSQL

Problem

How would you handle a situation where a key dashboard shows a discrepancy between two different source systems at Crusoe?

For the SQL portion, write a query that compares the two provided source tables at the resource and date level. Return every missing or mismatched record, including the values available in each source.

Output

  1. One row per missing or mismatched resource and date
  2. Columns: report_date, resource_id, source_a_value, source_b_value, difference, and discrepancy_type
  3. Sort by report_date, then resource_id
