Repeated and Missing Numbers

MediumPython

Problem

How would you find the number repeated twice and the missing number in an array where values are in range 1 to n?

Implement find_duplicate_missing(nums). The input contains n integers, where each value should appear once from 1 through n, except one value appears twice and another is absent. Return [repeated, missing].

Constraints

  • 2 <= len(nums) <= 5000
  • Each nums[i] is an integer in the range 1 through n
  • Exactly one value appears twice
  • Exactly one value is missing
  • Return the repeated value first and the missing value second
