MediumSQL · PostgreSQL

Problem

Write a SQL query using window functions to rank destinations by monthly bookings at Expedia Group.

Use confirmed bookings with a non-null booking date, and exclude bookings whose destination does not exist in the destination table.

Output

  1. One row per destination and calendar month, with booking_month, destination_name, monthly_bookings, and booking_rank.
  2. Rank destinations within each month by bookings descending, with ties sharing a rank.
