Python Coding: Sorting Song Objects

EasyPython

Problem

In Python, create a sorting function given a list of class objects called Song from greatest number of listens to least amount of listens, where Song has attributes Song_ID and Num_Listens.

Implement sort_songs(songs) and return the songs ordered by Num_Listens descending. Sorting must be stable, so songs with equal listen counts retain their original order. In JSON tests, each Song object is represented by a dictionary with Song_ID and Num_Listens keys. For example, counts [120, 450, 275] produce [450, 275, 120].

Constraints

  • 0 <= len(songs) <= 100000
  • Each Song has a Song_ID and a nonnegative integer Num_Listens
  • The function must return the songs in descending Num_Listens order
  • Equal Num_Listens values must preserve input order
