Asked in the Technical Phone Screen stage. The follow-ups usually focus on your main responsibility, especially data construction or modeling, and the innovation and impact of the project. I am looking for a specific example, not a list of projects.
This question helps me understand what you consider meaningful work, how much ownership you took, and whether you can explain the technical and business impact clearly. It also reveals how you handled ambiguity, tradeoffs, and collaboration.
A strong answer names one project, explains your exact role, and shows why it mattered. It should include the challenge, what you did, and the result, with enough detail to show real contribution.
