Property Availability Checks

MediumPython

Problem

Implement a function that handles property availability checks.

Represent each booking and requested stay as a half-open interval [start, end), where checkout at end does not conflict with check-in at end. Return True when the requested stay does not overlap any existing booking, otherwise return False.

Function: is_property_available(bookings, requested_stay)

bookings is a list of [start, end] integer pairs. requested_stay is one [start, end] pair. Inputs contain valid intervals with start < end.

Constraints

  • 0 <= len(bookings) <= 500
  • Each booking is a two-element integer list [start, end]
  • requested_stay is a two-element integer list [start, end]
  • All intervals satisfy start < end
  • Bookings may be unsorted and may overlap one another
