Process Order Events Function | Dataford Interview Questions

Write a function to handle specific logic for processing order events.

Implement process_order_events(events) to return the final status of each order. Each event is a dictionary with order_id, status, and integer timestamp. For each order, keep the event with the greatest timestamp. If timestamps tie, the event appearing later in the input wins. Return a dictionary mapping each order ID to its final status.

Input is a list of event dictionaries. The output is a dictionary. Return {} for an empty event list.

Constraints

0 <= len(events) <= 10^4
Each event contains order_id, status, and timestamp
order_id and status are non-empty strings
Timestamps are integers
