Presenting a High-Stakes STAR Case

Your question is Presenting a High-Stakes STAR Case. Take a moment with it on the right.

Talk me through your thinking if you like. When you're confident, submit your answer and I'll grade it like a real screen (7/10 or better passes).

You need to log in / sign up to chat or submit.

Problem

Tell me about a time you had to present a case study or project retrospective in a structured way—ideally using STAR—to influence a decision or align stakeholders. For example, this could have been a review for a launch on Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, or an internal Meta planning forum. What was the situation, how did you frame the story, and what happened as a result?

What This Probes

This question tests whether you can communicate clearly under pressure, distill a complex project into a crisp narrative, and tailor your message to an audience that may include engineering, design, data science, and leadership. For a Project Manager at Meta, strong communication is not just about presenting well—it is about driving alignment, surfacing trade-offs, and helping teams make better decisions quickly.

Interviewers are also looking for judgment: why you chose that example, how you structured the story, what data you used, and whether your presentation changed anything meaningful. They want evidence that you can represent both the work and the team credibly.

What 'Good' Looks Like

A strong answer uses one specific example with clear stakes, audience, and outcome. The best responses show how you simplified ambiguity, handled questions or pushback, quantified the impact, and reflect on what you learned about communicating with senior stakeholders.
