POST vs GET Retrieval | Dataford Interview Questions

How would you use a POST request to retrieve information, and when would you choose it over GET?

Implement a request builder that selects GET for ordinary, short query parameters and POST when filters contain sensitive fields or exceed a URL-length limit. Return the selected method and place the filters in either the query parameters or request body.

Input and Output

filters is a dictionary, sensitive_keys is a list of field names, and max_url_length is an integer. Return a dictionary with method, params, and body keys.

Constraints

filters contains string keys and JSON-compatible scalar or list values.
sensitive_keys contains zero or more string field names.
max_url_length is a non-negative integer.
A field is sensitive when its key appears in sensitive_keys.
POST is selected when a sensitive field exists or the encoded query length is greater than max_url_length.
