Your question is Personal Interests. Take a moment with it on the right.
Talk me through your thinking if you like. When you're confident, submit your answer and I'll grade it like a real screen (7/10 or better passes).
What are your interests?
Use this opportunity to describe the subjects, methods, or communities that genuinely motivate you, especially those relevant to research, evidence-based policy, or improving outcomes for people and communities. Explain how you have explored one or two interests through coursework, work, volunteering, independent learning, or other sustained activity. The interviewer is assessing curiosity, self-awareness, communication, and whether your interests align authentically with MDRC’s mission. Focus on specific examples rather than listing hobbies or repeating the organization’s website language.
