Parse and Validate Test Logs

HardPython

Problem

Write a function in Python or Go to parse and validate complex test execution logs under strict performance constraints.

Use Python. The input is one newline-delimited string, with records formatted as timestamp EVENT id [message_or_status]; valid events are START_SUITE, END_SUITE, START_TEST, END_TEST, and LOG. Return True only when timestamps are nondecreasing, identifiers are valid and unique, nesting is correct, closing identifiers and statuses are valid, and the entire log closes cleanly; otherwise return False. LOG records must target the currently open frame.

Constraints

  • 1 <= number of lines <= 5000
  • Each timestamp is a nonnegative decimal integer
  • Identifiers contain only letters, digits, underscores, and hyphens
  • Identifiers are unique across all START events
  • A log starts with START_SUITE and ends after the root suite closes
  • LOG messages are nonempty and may contain spaces
  • Closing statuses are exactly PASS or FAIL
