Given some data, write code to remove rows based on some criteria using pandas.

Implement a function that takes a pandas DataFrame and returns a new DataFrame with rows removed when they match the provided criteria. The criteria will be expressed as a list of simple row filters, such as equality checks, numeric thresholds, or membership in a set.

Function Signature

def remove_rows(df, criteria):

Input

df: a pandas DataFrame
criteria: a list of filter rules, where each rule specifies a column, an operator, and a value

Output

Return a DataFrame containing only the rows that do not match any removal rule

Constraints

1 <= len(df) <= 10^5
1 <= number of columns <= 50
Criteria use only supported operators: ==, !=, <, <=, >, >=, in, not in
Column names in criteria are guaranteed to exist in df
Return a DataFrame with the original column order preserved
