Problem

A CACI mission-data component needs to validate whether an input string reads identically from left to right and right to left. Write a function that returns True when the string is a palindrome and False otherwise.

Formal Specification

Implement is_palindrome(s), where s is a string. Compare characters exactly as provided: the check is case-sensitive, and spaces, punctuation, and digits are significant. Return a Boolean value.

Constraints

  • 0 <= len(s) <= 10^5
  • s contains printable ASCII characters
  • The comparison is case-sensitive
  • Whitespace and punctuation are significant

Function Signature
