Palindrome Function

EasyPython

Problem

City National Bank uses validation rules for certain internal reference labels. Write a function that returns whether a label is a palindrome, meaning it reads the same from left to right and right to left.

Compare characters exactly as provided. Letter case, spaces, punctuation, and digits are significant. For example, "Level" is not a palindrome because L and l differ.

Formal Specification

Implement is_palindrome(text).

  • Input: text, a string containing zero or more characters.
  • Output: Return true if text is a palindrome, otherwise return false.

Constraints

  • 0 <= len(text) <= 100,000
  • text may contain letters, digits, spaces, and punctuation
  • Characters are compared exactly, including case and whitespace

Function Signature
