Problem

As part of a Reply engineering interview exercise, determine whether a given string is a palindrome. A palindrome reads the same from left to right and right to left.

Implement a function that compares characters from both ends of the string and returns True if the string is a palindrome, or False otherwise. The comparison is case-sensitive, and every character, including spaces and punctuation, must be considered.

Formal Specification

  • Input: A string s containing zero or more characters.
  • Output: A boolean. Return True when s is a palindrome and False otherwise.

Constraints

  • 0 <= len(s) <= 100,000
  • s may contain letters, digits, spaces, and punctuation
  • Comparison is case-sensitive

Function Signature
