Optimizing String Reversal

EasyPython

Problem

Write a function that reverses a string. How would you optimize it?

Implement reverse_string(s) using Python. The function receives one string and returns a new string containing the same characters in reverse order. Discuss why your approach is efficient and avoid repeated string concatenation inside a loop.

Constraints

  • 0 <= len(s) <= 1000
  • s may contain letters, digits, spaces, punctuation, and Unicode characters
  • Return a new string and preserve every character exactly once

Function Signature
