No-Repeating-Characters Check

EasyPython

Problem

A Granicus content workflow needs to validate a string before processing it. Implement an algorithm that returns True when every character appears exactly once, and False when any character appears more than once.

Character comparisons are case-sensitive, and spaces and punctuation count as characters. For example, A and a are different characters.

Formal Specification

Implement has_unique_characters(s), where:

  • Input: s, a string containing zero or more characters.
  • Output: A boolean. Return True if no character occurs more than once; otherwise, return False.

Constraints

  • 0 <= len(s) <= 100,000
  • The string may contain Unicode characters
  • Spaces and punctuation count as characters
  • Character comparisons are case-sensitive
